The Black Congratulatory Ceremony is held every year to honor the African American graduates on the UIUC campus. The BN-AACP recognizes those students of African descent who have graduate from the U of I with a bachelor, masters, Ph.D., and or professional degree in a ceremony reflecting the African American tradition.

Important Dates!!!

Mark your calendars, and save the date for these important Black Congratulatory events. For information on campus wide commencement ceremonies, please click here:

  • Online Registration:*Opens January 25th, 2007*
  • Payment for Registration: April 16-20 & April 23-27, 2007.

  • Payment can be in cash or with a money order (made to "University of Illinois") only.
    No checks or credit cards will be accepted!

  • Stole & Ticket Distribution: April 30 - May 2, 2007.

  • Items can be picked up at the BN-AACC.

  • Black Congratulatory Rehearsal: May 11, 2007.

  • 6pm at Huff Hall.

  • Black Congratulatory Ceremony: May 12, 2007.
    Graduates will convene at the Armory at 4:30pm.
