Fitness
Graduate assistant will assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and supervising of Personal Trainer Staff; assist with the planning and conducting of Fitness staff training meetings; assist in diversifying and implementing new fitness programs, packages, and services. Applicants must be enrolled in the departments of Kinesiology, Community Health, Recreation, Sport and Tourism, or a related program.
Intramurals/Events Management
Graduate assistant will help develop, update, know, and implement Intramural Sport policies, procedures, and manuals; recruit, hire, and train sports officials; develop and maintain a Student Sports Officials Association; review schedules and payroll; maintain office hours; be certified in standard CPR/AED/First Aid; and help to conduct meetings with staff and officials. Applicants must be enrolled in the departments of Kinesiology, Community Health, Recreation, Sport and Tourism, or a related program.

Career Planning and New Student Programs
The Graduate Assistant has specific responsibility for coordinating and planning various career-related events and services for The Career Center, such as career fairs, informational sessions and guest speakers. In addition the Graduate Assistant coordinates the publicity for career events and services. The graduate assistant will regularly staff a drop-in advising service that provides information on resumes, career exploration, and employment search strategies and assists visitors in the Career Resource Center. (Approximately 4-6 hours per week). In order to be eligible applicants must be enrolled as a graduate student in either: Educational Organization and Leadership, College of Education; Human Resource Education, College of Education or the Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations. Career Services Technologies, Assessment and Evaluation
The Graduate Assistant has specific responsibility to assist The Career Center (TCC) with the use of technologies to enhance service and program delivery; to compile, organize, analyze and report data related to the assessment and evaluation of programs and services provided by The Career Center; and to identify and integrate the theoretical foundations of student/career development and higher education to career services delivery and outcomes measurement. The graduate assistant will regularly staff a drop-in advising service that provides information on resumes, career exploration, and employment search strategies and assists visitors in the Career Resource Center (Approximately 4-6 hours per week).
Employer Services and Career/Employment Assistance
The Graduate Assistant for Employer Services assists with the organization and implementation of programs and technology associated with the delivery of the Center's on-campus interviewing, job/internship posting, and resume referral programs. The graduate assistant will regularly staff a drop-in advising service that provides information on resumes, career exploration, and employment search strategies and assists visitors in the Career Resource Center. Outreach Career Programs
The Outreach Career Programs Pre-Professional Graduate Assistant is specifically responsible for implementation of the workshop series in both fall and spring semesters. The position is responsible for training and management of the Outreach team composed of approximately 25 undergraduate students. The graduate assistant will regularly staff a drop-in advising service that provides information on resumes, career exploration, and employment search strategies and assists visitors in the Career Resource Center. Peace Corps Campus Representative
The Peace Corps Campus Representative serves as a recruitment representative under the general supervision of the Director of The Career Center (TCC), the designated department administering the Peace Corps contract. The position operates under the jurisdiction of the Chicago Area Regional Recruitment Office (CRO) and receives guidance and direction from an assigned recruiter in the CRO. The purpose of the position is to recruit qualified applicants, interview and screen those candidates for volunteer service in the Peace Corps and build awareness of all Peace Corps programs.
Required Qualifications: successful completion of two-year assignment in the Peace Corps, and registered, or eligible to register, as a graduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Successful candidate will have outstanding organization, communication and presentation skills.
Position is 20-hours per week starting mid-August 2008 and continuing through May 2009. Provides competitive hourly wage (tuition waiver available for some academic programs).

African American Outreach
Assist in the development and administration of programming for African American students.
Alcohol Culture Explored Interative Theater (ACEIT)
The ACE IT graduate assistant will contribute to the overall mission of the Alcohol and Other Drug Office by assisting in the interactive theatre program administration, prevention and assessment work for the AODO, as well as other outreach efforts.
The position will require the candidate to support the Program Coordinator in multiple aspects of administering the program, as well as assisting in program evaluation. A comprehensive knowledge of student development and its relationship to student behavior in a social environment will support this candidate's success.
Alcohol and Other Drugs
Assist the Alcohol and other Drug Counselor from the Counseling Center and the staff in the Campus Alcohol and other Drug Office (AODO) in the development and delivery of services.
Asian Pacific American Outreach
Assist in the development and administration of programming for Asian Pacific American (APA) students.

Asian American Cultural Center
The graduate assistant will work primarily on educational, cultural, social, and developmental programming for Asian American college students; assist with programming for graduate students, faculty-staff, alumni, and community members; and assist in many aspects of the operations and administration of the Asian American Cultural Center. Regular evening and weekend work is expected. A tuition waiver may be possible, depending on the graduate field of study.
Assists the Dean
Graduate assistant will provide support to search processes in department or division, including staffing search committees, communicating with candidates; collect information regarding division's graduate assistantships and coordinate renewal of positions each year; conduct student-oriented research, including staffing surveys, library research and literature reviews; support special projects relating to the operation and administration of the Office of the Dean of Students; coordinate assigned program efforts; and perform other duties as assigned. The graduate assistant will provide direct assistance to students related to sexual assault and dating violence.
