Career Center

Graduate Assistant for Career Services Paraprofessionals in The Career Center The Graduate Assistant for the Career Services Paraprofessionals has two-fold responsibilities. First, the Graduate Assistant is responsible for the coordination and leadership of the Career Services Paraprofessionals (CSP) program. The CSP program consists of approximately 25 undergraduate students who perform a majority of The Career Center’s resume reviews, cover letter reviews, professional development workshops, and career-related events; these services take place in The Career Center and at off-site locations such as Greek houses, residence halls, and other common campus areas. Moreover, the Graduate Assistant oversees the training and evaluation process for the Career Services Paraprofessionals to ensure the program is commendable in customer service and sustainable for future academic years. The Graduate Assistant is charged with utilizing the CSP program to benefit The Career Center at large.

Career Events Planning and Marketing Assistant (Grad Hourly) The Career Events Planning and Publicity Assistant (Grad Hourly) has specific responsibility for coordinating and planning various career-related events for The Career Center, such as career fairs, informational sessions, and marketing outreach events. In addition the Career Events Planning and Marketing Assistant (Grad Hourly) helps coordinate the marketing for career events and The Career Center. The graduate hourly will regularly staff a drop-in advising service that provides information on resumes, career exploration, and employment search strategies and assists visitors in the Career Resource Center. (Approximately 4-6 hours per week)

Pre-Professional Graduate Assistant for Career Planning and New Student Programs The Graduate Assistant has specific responsibility to serve as coordinator of the Career Consultant On Call (CCOC) drop-in advising service staffed by graduate students. In addition the graduate assistant has specific responsibility to coordinate and present career planning workshops and assist with first-year student programs throughout the academic year. The graduate assistant will regularly staff CCOC, a drop-in advising service that provides information on resumes, career exploration, and employment search strategies and assists visitors in the Career Resource Center. (Approximately 4-6 hours per week)


Counseling Center

Alcohol and Other Drugs Assist the Alcohol and other Drug Counselor from the Counseling Center and the staff in the Campus Alcohol and other Drug Office (AODO) in the development and delivery of services.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT The Graduate Assistant serves as a member of the Illinois Leadership Center. The Illinois Leadership Center is a partnership between Academic Affairs and Student Affairs at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The Center serves as a focal point for student-oriented leadership initiatives on campus, bridging learning and development opportunities between academic curricula and Student Affairs programs and services. It has an established record of student involvement in academic leadership courses, workshops and conferences, and educational programs. Office of Inclusion and Intercultural Relations

Workshop Coordinator with FYCARE (First Year Campus Acquaintance Rape Education) Assist with scheduling the mandatory sexual assault education workshop for entering, first year students. This position will be 50 % time (20 hours per week) with the possibility of reducing hours in the spring semester to 25 % time (10 hours per week).

Volunteer Coordinator Volunteer Coordinator will work with all programs of the women's center by helping to train and schedule volunteers to staff the center’s events and activities. Volunteers are also involved in web projects, publicity, tours, and administrative functions. This position will be 25 % time (10 hours per week) for both the fall and spring semesters.

Direct Assistance Provide direct assistance to students related to sexual assault and dating violence. Responsibilities may include: providing individual support sessions, co-facilitating support groups, providing necessary documentation for reports, assisting students seeking services through supportive counseling intervention and referrals and planning and implementing related events.
