Why struggle with difficulty classes all by yourself? Stop by the Office of Minority Student Affairs Academic Services Center (OMSA-East) and complete a Tutor Request form for a tutor with whom you can meet every week for an hour each week for the whole semester in 100-level courses. All tutors are current UI students who have already taken these courses and received a grade of “A” or “B” in them. If you come in for tutoring during your first year or two here, you will be the person we want to hire to BE a tutor in your last years. Walk-in tutoring offered for all levels of math, chemistry, and physics. Study Skills Workshop offered for more general help with lecture note-taking, test-taking, text study, library research, and time management, come in and sign up for one of our Study Skills Workshops. Diversity Conference The University of Wisconsin-Madison will be hosting the 2nd Annual Creating Institutional Change Conference on March 23-25, 2007. The conference will be composed of sessions and activities focusing on: future initiatives regarding diversity on campuses; developing and encouraging leadership to improve campus climate for underrepresented populations; institutional racism; increasing campus awareness of different cultures and ethnicities; fostering better understanding of racial dynamics, gender behaviors, sexual orientation, and cross-cultural communication; and enhancing college student academic excellence.
