Transfer Student Program

During the transfer program, you will meet students who are already established on campus and get to know other incoming students. You will also:

Meet with an adviser to map out your academic strategy and select fall classes.
Learn more about the University's academic standards and the expectations of your college.
Become familiar with the various student support services.
Receive your student identification card. Please bring your driver's license or a state photo ID card.
Learn how your college credits will transfer.
Discover your current progress towards a degree.

The cost of the program is $53.

Approximately two weeks after you have selected your Registration Program online, you will receive a confirmation packet with additional campus information.

As you confirm your reservation online, you may pay with MasterCard, VISA, Discover, or American Express. If you choose not to pay online with a credit card, the student's University account will be billed for the total amount due on the student's first statement. Please have parent/guest names, all lunch choices, and credit card information ready when confirming online at www.istart.uiuc.edu.

What To Bring

NetID and NetID password
Course Catalog(s) describing the classes you have already completed
A list of the textbooks that were used in your previous classes
Any course syllabi from previous non-transferable courses or course articulations to U of I that you may want to discuss with your adviser
Official Photo ID
Casual clothing and comfortable walking shoes

Optional Parent/Guest Program

You can bring your parents/guests to their own Registration Program. Through a variety of information sessions, they can meet with college deans, academic advisers, campus administrators, students, and members of the Mothers and Dads Associations.

The cost of the program is $36 per parent/guest.

August Program

If you reside outside of Illinois or even outside of the United States and, due to excessive travel distance, are unable to attend a registration program in the summer, you may attend a Registration Program in late August. Students find this August program to be convenient as it allows them to make only one trip to campus prior to the beginning of the fall semester.
