While providing opportunities for students to display their mastery and synthesis of knowledge, the Testing Center shares and subscribes to the mission statement of the Office of the Dean of Students.
The Testing Center supports students throughout the higher education pipeline. It administers the SAT and ACT for high school students. Undergraduates can take a variety of graduate and professional school entrance exams such as the LSAT and Subjects GRE (visit National Tests Administered at U of I for more information). Alumni and other professionals in the region may take licensing exams important to their career goals.
The Center provides opportunities for students and the general public to display their mastery and synthesis of knowledge for both academic and professional purposes. Through our Prometric and Pearson VUE labs we provide a wide range of high-stake licensing and college entrance exams such as: GMAT, GRE, MCAT, DAT, TOEFL, etc. Registrations for all exams are scheduled by the owner of the test and not the Testing Center. Visit www.ets.org, www.mba.com/the-gmat.aspx, or other test owner sites to register.
In addition, the Testing Center offers individual proctoring services for students in distant education courses and to employers wishing to administer tests in a highly secure environment. Call (217) 244-1342 for pricing and appointments. The Center also trains and employs upper division and graduate students as proctors for UI faculty throughout the year. If you are interested in becoming a proctor or are in need of a proctor, please visit Proctor Pool for more information.
