The U of I Illinois Club Announces Scholarships for Academic year 2008-2009
The Illinois Club at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was founded in 1906. Its members include faculty, staff, and spouses from all academic, research, administrative, and extension areas of the University. Since 1917, the Illinois Club has provided financial support to undergraduate students. For the 2008-2009 academic year, the Illinois Club will award six scholarships: five $1000 Make-A-Difference Awards and the $1000 Judith Life Ikenberry Fine Arts Award.
Make-A-Difference Awards
Women or men of junior or first semester senior status as of September 2008 who will be enrolled in classes during 2008-2009 and with minimum GPA of 2.75 are eligible.
The Judith Life Ikenberry Fine Arts Award
Women or men of junior or first semester senior status as of September 2008 who will be enrolled in classes during 2008-2009 with minimum GPA of 2.75 are eligible. This scholarship will be awarded to a student in the fine arts.
Applications
Applications must be submitted by Friday, February 15. They are available at the Student Services Building, Office of Women’s Programs, 610 East John Street, Champaign or online. Applicants must attach a one-page statement to their application explaining how they plan to use their education to "Make-A-Difference" in the lives of others. Semi-finalists will be interviewed in February 2008. Further details are available online and on the application.
