Training
Academic professionals, faculty, instructors, support staff, and paraprofessionals are likely to work with students and co-workers who have been impacted by sexual or domestic violence. It is important that professionals know how to deal with this situation if it arises. The Office of Women's Programs can provides trainings and consulting with departments, offices, and professional organizations. To schedule a training call 333-3137.
Training topics include:
- What is sexual harassment?
- Assisting students who have experienced rape.
- Assisting students who are in abusive relationships.
Book and Video/DVD Collection
The Office of Women's Programs maintains an extensive collection of books pertaining to women's topics and issues of concern. Most books can be checked out for up to one month; non-circulating books may be used in the OWP office area. The OWP also has a number of DVD's and videotapes which are available for use in workshops, educational programming and academic classes. Speakers or facilitators for discussions in conjunction with video/DVD use are also available. Arrangements must be made in advance and in accordance with OWP policies.
